After a break from Unreal Engine I decided to try my hand at a proper multiplayer game (based on my old Hero Shooter project) with fleshed out character abilities, multiple game modes and a progression system (tracking wins/loses and unlocking new characters along the way). This time around I’ve spent a lot of time tweaking the net-code to find the right balance between optimization and security (a popular ongoing debate in the client-server replication model).
With the new Hero Shooter I opted for a more cartoon-y, simplistic design. There are currently only three completed characters (and an additional character with only half his moveset implemented), three gamemodes and six levels.
